What can I do to reduce my blood pressure?

  • Overweight and Obesity is a major risk factor for the development of high blood pressure. If your BMI is 32 you are three times more likely to develop high blood pressure, so reduce your weight if obese!

  • Reduce your alcohol intake if over recommended limits,
  • Increase your activity levels-even walking up the stairs instead of using the lift is a good start!
  • Look out for other risk factors (high cholesterol, diabetes),
  • Try to relax in a healthy way!
  • Eat more vegetables and follow a low glycaemic diet!
