The test measures the glucose concentration in the blood 2 hours after consuming 75g of soluble glucose.
- A normal blood glucose level is 7.8 mmol/L.
- A blood glucose level between 7.8 and 11 mmol/L is considered impaired glucose tolerance or pre-diabetic. This indicates that you are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
- A reading of over 11.1mmol/L or higher indicates the presence of Type 2 diabetes.
