In her interview with Ryan Tubridy Dr. Eva reveals how,  when filming for her documentary Ireland’s Health Divide, she saw things in Ireland that she would expect to see in third world countries. “It’s extraordinary that we have such disadvantaged areas so near to huge affluence.”

Dr. Eva got to witness people struggling with everyday difficulties and got to see how people in very underprivileged areas of the country were less likely to have a quality of life one would expect in Ireland. She says: ” I don’t think I always appreciate what I have and I’m expecting too many things”.

She explains about the difference in education and the resources that it gives to people also to make better choices when it comes to food. One of the sad statistics that came through from the programme was that women in deprived areas are twice as likely to be overweight and obese.

“How could we improve things and what could we change that we could make things and life easier for people in Ireland?”
